Some people have no idea how to do something like this. So first off, start out by having a name input event. You can do it anywhere and anyway you want, but I suggest making it a parallel process event in the beginning of your RPG. Start out first by finding out which actor you want to name. For now, we will say actor 1 is the one you want to name. Make an event so that you choose the name for actor 1.

Once the name is typed in, you won't be able to call your character by his/her name until you do one more thing. Everytime in the game when you want to refer to the character you named, you have to type "\n[#] " without quotes wherever you want to refer to the character.

However, when you type \n[#], you have to replace "#" with the number of your actor. For instance, since we are making this tutorial about actor 1, you will put the number "1" in place of "#." Like this: \n[1]. Repeat this process whenever you have a character in the game refer to actor 1.

This is what it should end up like. Any problems doing this? Just let me know.
